Color Technical Data
SUPER
STONE INTEGRAL COLORS are the finest blended pigments in the industry
providing color stability and pure color tones. Super Stone Integral
Colors are sun fast, lime proof, weather resistant and packaged
to insure consistent color mixing. Super Stone Integral Colors are
compatible with most admixtures except calcium chloride. Combined
with Super Stone's wide range of Matcrete tools, Color
Hardeners and Release Agents and
finished with SuperStone Concrete Sealer
not only will you have structurally superior concrete but warmth
and beauty.
To
properly install, finish and cure using SuperStone Integral Colors
follow the listed directions and heed stated cautions.
DIRECTIONS
1) Landscape and surrounding areas should be protected from
staining and damage.
2) A minimum of 5 bags of cement (214kg
of 470 lbs.) per cubic yard would be placed with a four inch slump
(100mm) or less. This slump should be consistent with each load.
3) Subgrade should be dampened, compacted, free from standing
water and frost before placing concrete.
4) Blend well and trowel the concrete contiguous to the forms,
texturing for slip resistance.
5) Broom (perpendicular to pedestrian traffic), sponge float,
rotary, swirl, sand blasted, acid-etched or exposed aggregate finish
are the common finishes applied to outdoor installations.
6) To avoid a slippery indoor surface be careful to take
added precautions by troweling uniformly.
7) All finishing should be done in a reasonable amount of
time after placement with consistency and hand finishing being done
in the same direction.
8) Apply Super Stone Clear or Pigmented Solvent Based Sealer
or Super Stone Clear or Pigmented Water Based Sealer.
CAUTIONS
1) Do not use concrete containing reactive aggregates, calcium
chloride, flyash or additional mixtures except and approved air
entraining agent.
2) Do not change brands of cement or source of sand for mixes
of the same color.
3) Do not mix less than 3 cubic yards of pigmented concrete
in a ready-mix truck for sample or cleanup loads.
4) Do not allow the slump to exceed five inches (125mm) for
any load.
5) Do not add water after part of the load has been unloaded,
to concrete that has started to set or to the concrete surface during
finishing.
6) Do not finish the surface with a long handled Fresno or
over finish as over troweling will cause trowel burns that darken
the surface.
7) Do not attempt to cure the pigmented concrete with wet
coverings, plastic, waterproof paper or liquid compounds.
8) Do not use Super Stone Concrete Sealer to try and disguise
errors or change colors.
9) Do not apply Super Stone Concrete
Sealer during cold weather or when any form of condensation is present.
Apply thin coats as thick coats will result in bubbling allowing
the sealer to dry before it is subjected to any source of water
or temperatures below 50°F.
10) Do not walk on the sealed surface before checking for
slip resistance and before the recommended minimum of 4 hours. Vehicular
traffic, a minimum of 4 days.
